Better Than Hypospray: Japanese Inventor Creates... →
I’d take a shot w/o a needle any day! The actual pain of an injection isn’t bad. It’s the apprehension and anxiety that you feel as that needle closes in on your exposed flesh that bothers me.
Sucktastic Internet
MySpace launched a new music service today that could be pretty cool. But it’s hard for me to test it because of my sucktastic Internet service.
There’s some sort of update going on over at the cable company (I was redirected to a company-branded search page when I mistyped a URL the other night… it reminded me to set up OpenDNS on that computer).
Since the update started, my...
Way Too Cool... And Way Too Expensive →
The pants are sweet. I’d love a pair. But they’re almost $200. Seriously. I don’t care what they’re made of or how they’re cut. They’re still just pants.
Get over yourselves…
Lots of Wootables
Woot.com is running through stuff like crazy today. If you’re in the market for something new and fun at a good price, load it up and keep hitting refresh. I’ve had to restrain myself a couple of times now.
If only money grew on trees…
Safari, SquirrelFish Extreme, and Acid3
Yeah… more geeky stuff this morning. Don’t worry - you’ll survive.
Safari, my web browser of choice, passes the Acid3 test with… drum roll… wait for it… waaaait for it… a score of…. 100/100. Oh yeah. That’s right. A perfect score. And it has for a while now.
Not only that, but the WebKit team just announced a new JavaScript engine that puts...

Just look at all those new cameras, lenses, etc. I probably should have waited to buy mine. But oh well. Such is my luck.

So Google DOES Know the Mac Exists?
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’m pretty excited about Google’s entry into the web browser market. I had a chance to play with it a bit and it shows some promise. But as of yet it’s not available for the Mac or Linux (which just happen to be the two OSes I run).
I sure hope it doesn’t take Google as long to get Chrome running on the Mac as it did for them to get...
Pretty packaging aside, should it really be this hard to get into a box? I feel for the guy. It took two of us to get a freakin’ air freshener for my car out of the package a few days ago. Why? [Via]
Maybe someone should explain to this guy exactly how a backflip is done? Maybe? ‘Cause I don’t think he gets it.
I wrote in June about one study which found no link between fast food...

Is there really one answer to this problem? No. We’re all different. Some people can eat fast food their entire lives and not gain a pound. Others can eat nothing but air and still put on weight.
Stop looking for a study to bring the answer and start looking at yourself. Play...

The link between music and psychology has always fascinated me. If you’ve visited Reader Meet Author (or just know me) you’ll already know that.
Especially The Snipers?
I saw a bumper sticker today on the way to work that said:
God Bless Our Troops. Especially the Snipers.
Is there something about snipers that makes them more bless-worthy than all of the other troops risking their lives for our country?
Maybe this person’s friend/family member was a sniper. I dunno. But it was strange, none the less.

Google Chrome Receives Heavy Criticism in Germany →
Privacy online is an illusion. Do you really think that what you do and where you go on the Internet isn’t being logged, recorded, tracked, or watched by someone?
Then you’re naive…

For Customer Service Reps...
I’ve done telephone customer service in the past. I hated it. Six months was all I could handle. So I know what’s it’s like.
That being said, it’s not difficult. It’s not always pleasant. But it’s not hard. A simple, commonsense part of talking to someone on the phone is keeping the lines of communication open.
If I have to ask if you’re still there...

Doing My Duty
I got a jury summons in the mail. At first I was less than thrilled. But the more I thought about it, the more intrigued by the idea I became.
I wouldn’t mind being on a jury. In fact, I think it’d be a great way to explore the American legal system… without breaking the law and ending up in jail.
So I’ll do my patriotic duty and serve on a jury. Who knows… maybe...

I Have a Fetish
Now before you get your panties in a bunch, let me clarify that:
I have a web browser fetish.
So when I ran across “Google Chrome, Google’s Browser Project” at Google Blogoscoped today, my little gears started churning. The nerd in me (which is arguably the largest part) is pretty excited about this.
I’m not sure why, but I’ve always kinda had a web browser fetish....

Diddy: Lower oil prices so I can fly on private... →
This may have something to do with the taste of throw-up in my mouth…
Anyone feel sorry for “Diddy” because he has to fly commercial instead of private? Yeah… me either.
I do feel sorry for the AP writer who had to try to make this newsworthy. Wouldn’t someone from the Comics section have been better suited to cover this?
Or the Who Gives a Shit section…
